Since it seems a lot of people here are coming up with the goods in the music video clip thread, I thought I'd ask if anyone else here is on Last.fm.

If you don't know what Last.fm is, it's a site (and client) that keeps track of what you listen to, allowing you to compare your taste against others, make friends with people, get recommendations and, of course, build stats.

There isn't an Eegra! last.fm group yet, but I think there probably should be if enough people are on it. My last.fm user thingy is Hermitesque (http://www.last.fm/user/Hermitesque), by the way. Do you have as odd taste in music as me?

I used to use Last FM way back when but I found it a little too draining on system resources (it tended to slow downloads etc) so once the initial novelty wore off I stopped using it. I might give it go again however seeing I'm thinking of uploading some of my bands music on to it.

I tried Last.fm a while ago but found it completely vistigal since I don't listen to the radio any more, even one I can program.

I've been using last.fm ever since I found a Winamp plugin that scrobbled my music. The player is arse. When someone starts a group, I'll join.

I made a Last.fm account wondering what I listen to most. I promptly forgot about it, came back a month later, and then obsessively watched each new track get added to the things I'd recently listened to.

Now I only check it once a month or so, but it's still interesting watching what you've been listening to.

I think I'm a bit too conscious about it. I sometimes find myself thinking "nah, already listened to that too much this week". I need to forget it's there so I can get a true gauge on my listening habits.

What I need is a "phase tracker"; what I listened to most at particular dates.

People in Planes --> Death Cab For Cutie --> Coldplay --> Queen --> Seal --> Glasvegas --> Macy Gray.

That is what it would look like. Then tiny men would jump out and make fun of me and beat me.

You can actually look at your top artists and tracks in several time frames. I think it's "over all", "last 12 months", "last 6 months", "last 3 months", "last month" and "last 7 days".

I can totally see the phases I've gone through when looking at it from each time period, even in the past year.

I know what you mean, but it's practically my homepage anyway. I spend way too much time just idly looking at my charts, but it's a great way to find new music. Anyway, here's mine (http://www.last.fm/user/zealmo).
