In an attempt to make a generalized Academy Award discussion, I figured I really just wanted to talk about Slumdog Millionaire.
In short: See this fucking movie.
In long: My dick, but not only that its an excellent work of art. The shots, the acting, the propaganda is all excellent and perfectly placed in the movie. I even was astounded by the acting of the children. Another masterpiece of Danny Boyle, director of 28 Days Later and Trainspotting.
Not only did I go there to waste my life and for once witness a movie that looked compelling out of the My Bloody Valentine 3D's introduced this year, but it gave a touching story about things that are very eye opening. Specifically the setting is what drew me in; a town built on depression, garbage, and destruction in India.
I'd say more, but I'd be in shame for spoiling the movie for you, just see it.
It won't necessarily give you a murder boner like other Danny Boyle flicks, but this honestly must win film of the year.
