Those are two books I intend to read to spread my horizons rather than enjoy them. If they ARE enjoyable, all the better.

Don Quixote. It's where the adjective 'quixotic' comes from so you know it's total fucking tits. It's essentially about an old guy who's main passion is adventure stories and epic poetry who, in a haze of possibly senile confusion, intersects the chivalrous and romantic world of those stories with real life and becomes a knight-errant to go on adventures. Haven't finished, but I'd already reccomend it. Just did in fact.

Just finished The Innovators Dilemma, which lays out why people often buy crappy products instead of great ones and how great companies author their own demise by doing the things that made them great. It's also half of Nintendo's playbook lately, with the other half being The Blue Ocean Strategy, which was also pretty neat.
Also I highly recommend reading this. It's great if you just want to pretend that you've read a lot of stuff and also that you're better than whatever books other people tell you that they've liked.

So I just read Robin Hood (the Paul Creswick version), because I found it while rummaging through my folk's garage, not because of the action flick. Though it's odd that people are criticizing it because they "agro-ed up a children's classic" (paraphrased) when Robin Hood at its roots is completely brutal. The dude picks fights left and right and enjoys it.
Robbing from the rich is almost nowhere to be found; majority of the time it's about poaching the king's deer. And fightin'. Maid Marion is kinda badass, too. |

I finished A Feast for Crows about a month ago. Since I was pre-warned that certain characters were left out I was actually quite satisfied with the book. Gotta say that the Song of Ice and Fire series is probably my favourite as far as fantasy books go.
I dunno if it would qualify as excellent to many folks here at all, but I'm reading "The only astrology book you'll ever need". The title is rather apt, there's a crap ton of information inside it. Gotta admit that ages ago I thought astrology was plain stupid and was quite a sceptic. For some reason I ended up looking into it more though and yeah, it's a lot more deep than the crappy horoscopes you see everywhere would lead you to believe. I've done about 15-20 natal charts for various people I know and they've hit the nail on the head each time. Also done a couple of relationship profiles and come up with mind blowing results too. The coincidences are really quite freaky.

I'd take a properly close look at those descriptions. A trick I've seen explained is how a lot of minor details are given which are contradictory to each other, and you mentally blot out those that don't fit. These usually come after extremely general statements that fit 90% of people, so that you've decided that it's accurate, and just accepting details that fit.

Well, the biggest thing that stood out over all is that the description in this book for Cancer ascendant describes my sister perfectly. Not a single contradiction. Even the description of physical traits suits her. Meanwhile not a bit of it suited me one iota, especially the physical traits.
What I've actually done is handed a bunch of my sister and my own mutual friends and the page with Cancer ascendant on it and said "who does this describe?". They often ask before beginning if it's for them and I say "just read it and guess". They all correctly guess my sister after they've read it. A lot of her planets share the same signs though, so that makes her an easier read. Another funny thing is that I'm moon in gemini, which is also in the third house. This would theoretically give me a tendency to get wrapped up in other people's lives, gossip and meddle in other people's affairs. All things that I do, I've caused about as many break ups/endings in friendships as I have helped people to get back together/make up. Those are only a few of the very many coincidences...
