This forum is the hub of the Eegra community. We want it to be a pleasant little place where intelligent people can get together and have fun without having to worry about The Internet Bollocks. You know what we mean by The Internet Bollocks: drama, flame-wars, cliques, loud-mouthed idiots – all that nonsense that makes posting on most other forums completely unbearable. We want none of it.
To that end, we’ve devised the following rules. Here’s how the system works:
Now, here are those rules: DON’T DO ANYTHING THAT COULD GET US SUED AND/OR THROWN IN JAIL This includes but is not limited to: posting links to pirated software, music, videos, E-books, and ROMs or providing information on how to obtain/use same; engaging in or encouraging criminal activity or other anti-social behaviour; engaging in or encouraging harassment of any sort; and engaging in or encouraging bigotry and discrimination. Basically, if it’s illegal outside the forum, then it’s illegal inside the forum. Cool? Cool. DON’T POST PORN, SHOCK IMAGES, OR MEMES AND MACROS Pornography and shock images (Goatse, Tub Girl, Lemon Party etc.) are COMPLETELY off-limits and may not be posted or linked to in any form. We might be able to bend the rules a little in the context of legitimate discussion – like, say, if you’re arguing about the effects of porn and want to illustrate a point – but only if you contact us first and ask permission. Don’t go and post some big ol’ titties and then tell us about it later. We won’t take it well. Also, this isn’t 4Chan, so please refrain from posting memes and image macros. If you can’t be bothered to engage in actual conversation, then don't bother posting here. DON’T BE A DOUCHE This isn’t a hard rule to follow. It’s something that most of you do naturally, without even thinking about it. But for those who have trouble with the idea, here's what it boils down to: don’t do things solely for the purpose of antagonising other forumers. You know the kind of thing we're talking about. DON’T POST HUGE IMAGES Not everybody has a decent internet connection, so please refrain from posting images (including animated GIFs) over 500k. In fact, even 500k is pushing it, so try to keep under that whenever possible. Of course, this rule only applies to inline images: if you want to link to something posted on ImageShack or wherever, then go right ahead. DON’T MAKE THE FOLLOWING TYPES OF THREAD
The people posting here are smart and interesting - you will enjoy reading their posts, so there's no reason not to do that before posting something of your own. (Seriously, there is nothing more annoying than when somebody shows up to a fifty-page thread and asks a question that was answered on the first page.) WATCH YOUR GRAMMAR/SPELLING/PUNCTUATION Although we’re not going to throw you out if you forget to start a sentence with a capital or spell “ridiculous” with an “e”, we do require that you make an effort to communicate in something approximating proper English. Posting in l33t sp33k, or SMS speak, or any other kind of lazy gibberish will not go down well here. OBSERVE COMMON FORUM ETIQUETTE That means doing things like marking spoilers, staying on topic, marking NSFW stuff as NSFW, and all the other little things that have come to define proper etiquette on the internet. Manners, basically. REMEMBER THE GODDAMN RULES Ignorance is no excuse. If you don’t read the rules, or can’t remember them, then that’s your problem. You’ll be punished for breaking them regardless. Thanks and have fun! THE EEGRA PEOPLE |

To make your forum-browsing experience more enjoyable, we've decided to implement some rules for signatures. They are as follows:
1) Text signatures can't be over 4 lines long. 2) The maximum size for image signatures is 500 x 80 - meaning that it can't exceed either of those dimensions. This goes for multi-image sigs, and sigs with images and text. So, basically, if your sig is bigger than this... ![]() ...then your sig is too big. If your sig is too big, we'll edit it so that isn't too big. Thanks! THE EEGRA PEOPLE |
